AFINet (Addiction and the Family International Network), which now has 900 members from over 50 countries, is holding its 6th Annual Conference, 21st-23rd May 2025, at Université Laval in Quebec City, Canada. As always, this conference offers a unique platform for professionals, researchers, policy makers and individuals with lived experiences to share insights on addiction’s impact on families and affected others.

The first day (21st May) will consist of various clinical workshops on proven models to work with affected family members; over the next two days there will be a combination of Keynote Presentations, and a mix of other presentation formats. Keynote Speakers include: Professor Jim Orford, University of Birmingham, UK; Professor Sharon Dawe, Griffith University, Australia; Dr Pauline Stewart, Family Drug Support Aotearoa, New Zealand; Professor Myriam Laventure, Université de Sherbrooke, Canada ; Professor Chantal Plourde, Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, Canada; Anita Rock, Pessamit Community, Canada.
Quebec City, the cradle of French language and culture in North America, is renowned for its rich history and vibrant culture. Attendees can immerse themselves in the city’s European charm, with must-see attractions like Old Quebec, a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the shores of the majestic St. Lawrence River.
